And SciFi.com has put up the third Stargate Atlantis video Q&A with Jewel Staite at http://video.scifi.com/player/?id=212830
As usual, you can find screencaps and the complete transcript under the cut. Enjoy!
BLIND_IO: How do you choose the roles you take? .. also, love your blog!
Jewel: Hi, Blind_Io. Thanks for the blog comment . That’s awaesome. What I look for in potential roles. Usually, after I wrap something, I look for a whole that’s completely different from the one I just wrapped. It’s just important to keep myself motivated and not bored and kind of enthusiastic about the whole process, because it’s very draining. It can be very tiring, especially looking for a new job is really exhausting.
SHANYU: Will the ATLANTIS crew run into any “terrifying space monkeys”?
Jewel: ShanYu, okay. Space monkeys*, Altantis. No, I don’t think so. Maybe like Wraith slash monkey hybrids. That would be interesting. Maybe Nathian Fillion could play a wraith slash monkey hybrid. I doubt he’d go for that but you know what I’m going to ask him anyway. That’s a good idea. I like that.
SHANYU: Whatever happened to the hammock on FIREFLY?
Jewel: Uh, ShanYu, the hammock. It’s actually in my house, in my closet. And I’ve signed it and I’m awaiting maybe a special charity auction occasion or something to give it away. I really don’t want to give it away. I just might keep it for myself.
* From an episode of Firefly
Inara: A companion chooses her own clients; that's guild law. But physical appearance doesn't matter so terribly. You look for a compatibility of spirit. There's an energy about a person that's difficult to hide. You try to feel that...
Mal: And then you try to feel the energy of their credit account. It has a sort of aura.
Inara: What did I say to you about barging in to my shuttle?
Mal: That it was manly and impulsive?
Inara: Yes, precisely. Only the exact phrase I used was, "Don't."Mal: Well, you're holding my mechanic in thrall - and Kaylee, what the hell's goin' on in the engine room? Were there monkeys? Some terrifying space monkeys maybe got loose?
